Jody A. Mooney is a trial lawyer who represents large insurers and self-insured entities. She has tried civil lawsuits in jury and non-jury trials, arbitration hearings, and small claims matters in state and federal courts throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. She has also successfully briefed and argued appellate matters before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
Jody was born and raised in Allentown, PA. She attended college and law school in the evening while she worked full-time as an insurance defense paralegal and law clerk for large Philadelphia law firms. In 1997, she graduated from Allentown College of St. Frances de Sales with a B.A., magna cum laude, in psychology. In 2001, she earned her Juris Doctorate from Temple University – Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia. At Temple, Jody took Temple’s nationally recognized integrated trial advocacy program. During law school, she interned with the Honorable Arnold Rapoport, United States Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was on the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2008 and 2010.
Jody lives in the Lehigh Valley, PA area with her husband, Jerry, and young daughter. She has previously served as a Board Member for the Center for Humanistic Change and a volunteer for the Perfect Fit for Working Women. She has also served as the Chair of the Legal Explorer Post for the Northampton County Bar Association. She is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Northampton County Bar Association, and the Lehigh County Bar Association.
